Geburtstages.
Herausgestellt wird, daß Biringuccios Buch „De la Pirotechnia“ sowohl als das Erstwerk auf dem Gebiet der Metallurgie gilt wie auch Vorläufer des von Georg Agricola verfassten Werkes „De re metallica libri XII“ definitiv ist, welches dieser Autor in seinem Lebenswerk bekennend, auch benutzte.
Vermittelt wird außerdem, Biringuccios „Pirotechnia“ erschien postum 1540 zu Venedig in Folio bei Curtio Navo, aber ohne Namen des Verfassers. Hinzugefügt sind nebendem auch weiter wichtige Details zu seinem bedeutsamen Traité. Zur Kenntnis gebracht wird ebenfalls, daß Biringuccios Werk weitere italienische Auflagen, französische, lateinische und Otto Johannsens erste Deutsche hatte.
Und, herausgestellt sind weiterhin, daß im Allgemeinen Biringuccios Werk auch als ein systematisches Lehrbuch der Metallurgie, Metallbearbeitung sowie chemischen Technologie Anerkennung verstanden wird und gleichermaßen Ansehen gefunden hat. Hingewiesen wird im Beitrag vom Autor ebenfalls, daß auf Grund Biringuccios wichtiger Erkenntnisse und bedeutenden Leistungen auch heute noch immer sowohl im Montanwesen wie auch in der Technikgeschichte sein Schriftgut genutzt wird. Aufgezeigt wird im vorliegenden Werk ebenfalls auch das Charakteristische von Biringuccios „Della pirotechnica Libri X., delle minere e metalli“, nämlich, daß er für seine Mitteilungen darin eine leichte briefliche Form gewählt hat und den umfangreichen, spröden Stoff meisterlich disponierte, logisch ordnete und übersichtlich behandelt.
Aufmerksam gemacht wird ingleichen, Vannoccio Biringuccio gilt nicht nur als erster Schriftsteller der Metallurgie, sondern auch als der, der sich literarisch vorwiegend nicht mit Kriegstechnik beschäftigt hat, und es zählt als Novum, daß er in seiner Muttersprache schrieb. So wird auch die These vermittelt, daß Biringuccio wahrscheinlich damit nicht nur Gelehrte, sondern auch die Männer der Praxis ansprechen wollte.
Schließlich, zum Ausdruck gebracht wird in der vorliegenden Veröffentlichung auch, aus dem was Biringuccio in seinem Lebenswerk „De la Pirotechnia“ niedergeschrieben hat, wird deutlich, er war nicht nur ein tätiger, sondern auch erfindungsreicher Ingenieur.
