Die Personalauswahl als wesentliches Element des gesamten Personalbeschaffungsprozesses sorgt im Kern für die überschaubare Konkretisierung eines fest definierten Bewerberkreises zur Besetzung einer vakanten Stelle im Unternehmen, so dass die anschließende Entscheidung für einen Bewerber deutlich erleichtert werden kann. Damit die Bewerberauswahl auch gelingt, ist es notwendig, dass die jeweiligen Anforderungen der zu besetzenden Arbeitsstelle bekannt sind.

Für die Auswahlentscheider, dies können Mitarbeiter sowohl aus den Fachabteilungen als auch der Personalabteilung sein, ist es darum sehr hilfreich, vorab den möglichen Stellenplan, den Stellenbesetzungsplan, die jeweilige Stellenbeschreibung sowie das Anforderungsprofil für die zu besetzende Arbeitsstelle als Arbeitsgrundlage von Seiten der Personalabteilung zu erhalten.
