Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 1996 im Fachbereich Germanistik - Neuere Deutsche Literatur, Note: 2, Christian-Albrechts-Universität Kiel (Institut für neuere deutsche Literaturwissenschaft), Veranstaltung: Botho Strauß, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Die Erzählung "Marlenes Schwester" von Botho Strauß hinterlässt bei den Leserinnen und Lesern ein beunruhigendes und verwirrendes Gefühl der Unsicherheit, der Schwebe zwischen Wahn, Fantasie und Wirklichkeit. Die gewohnten raum-zeitlichen Strukturen können den Handlungsgang der Erzählung nicht fassen. Logisch aus dem Text erklärbare Ergebnisse einer Analyse sind nicht mit der Lebensrealität in Einklang zu bringen.
Botho Strauß scheint hier "den Gang und die Gesetze der vernünftig denkenden Vernunft aufzuheben", wie dies Friedrich Schlegel "als Anfang aller Poesie" fordert.
Allein aufgrund dieses Gedankens von einer Affinität zu frühromantischen Poetikkonzeptionen zu sprechen, wäre wohl noch unangemessen. Allerdings werden die strukturell-formalen Merkmale von einigen auffälligen motivischen Elementen der Frühromantik begleitet, so dass es meines Erachtens insgesamt Wert scheint, den Text auf frühromantische Strukturen und Merkmale hin näher zu untersuchen.
In einem ersten Teil der Arbeit werden kurz die wesentlichen und für diese Untersuchung relevanten Merkmale der frühromantischen Poetikkonzeption von Friedrich Schlegel dargestellt. Die Textanalyse der Erzählung "Marlenes Schwester" erfolgt in einem zweiten Teil, wobei ich zunächst ausführlich die strukturellen Merkmale untersuchen werde, um dann die inhaltlich-motivischen Elemente darzustellen. Diese Textanalyse soll deutlich machen, welche frühromantischen Merkmale und Elemente in der Erzählung "Marlenes Schwester" auftreten. Die daraus entstehenden Ergebnisse und Besonderheiten werde ich anschließend in einzelnen Schritten zu den frühromantischen Merkmalen und Elementen in Beziehung setzen, um somit zu klären, auf welche Weise Botho Strauß mit diesen arbeitet.
