Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2007 im Fachbereich Germanistik - Neuere Deutsche Literatur, Note: 3,0, Bergische Universität Wuppertal, 7 Quellen im Literaturverzeichnis, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: In meiner Hausarbeit beschäftige ich mich mit den Rollen und Funktionen der Figur Gretchen beziehungsweise Margarete aus Johann Wolfgang Goethes Tragödie „Faust – Der Tragödie Erster Teil“.
Schon während meiner Schulzeit, in der ich das Werk zum ersten Mal las, interessierte es mich, welchen Platz Gretchen in der Fausttragödie einnimmt. Dabei fiel mir beim erneuten Nachdenken auf, dass sie mehrere Funktionen hat und daher unterschiedliche Rollen in der Handlung einnimmt. Diesen Rollen und Funktionen möchte ich daher in meiner Hausarbeit auf den Grund gehen.

Zunächst werde ich noch im Rahmen der Einleitung die Gretchen-Handlung aus dem Gesamtzusammenhang herausnehmen, näher erläutern, darauf eingehen und sie dann wieder in den Gesamtzusammenhang einbetten.

Im Hauptteil werde ich die Rollen, die mir als besonders wichtig erscheinen, benennen und diese mit Hilfe des Werkes „Faust“ untermauern und belegen. Weiterhin möchte ich auch eigene Interpretationen und Gedanken dazu einbringen.

Zuletzt werde ich eine Auswertung der getroffenen Aussagen aus dem Hauptteil vornehmen und daraus ein Resümee erstellen. Mein Ziel ist die Klärung der Frage „Gibt es eine übergeordnete Rolle und/oder Funktion des Gretchen für die gesamte Faustdichtung ‚Faust – Der Tragödie Erster Teil’?“.
