Nach Aussage des Deutschen Instituts für Wirtschaftsforschung ist in Deutschland jedes siebte Kind arm. Der 2. Armutsbericht der Bundesregierung 2005 stellt fest, dass rund 1,1 Mio. Bezieherinnen und Bezieher von Sozialhilfe Kinder unter 18 Jahren sind. Mit einer Sozialhilfequote von 7,2% (Ende 2003) weisen sie im Vergleich zur Gesamtbevölkerung (3,4%) einen deutlich höheren Hilfebedarf auf. 55% von ihnen leben in Haushalten von Alleinerziehenden und nur 35% in Zwei-Eltern-Familien. Es bestehen deutliche Unterschiede zwischen deutschen und ausländischen Familienhaushalten. (siehe S. 9)
In der vorliegenden Hausarbeit möchte ich auf Probleme der Armut eingehen und die Auswirkungen für die Kinder verdeutlichen. Hierbei werden speziell die physischen und psychischen Folgen betrachtet. Zuerst werde ich im Punkt 2 Definitionen von Armut beschreiben. Nach dem theoretischen Teil und der Vorstellung von Auswirkungen der Armut, werde ich die Maßnahmen der Bundesregierung zur Bekämpfung von Armut zusammenfassen.
