Einleitung

Seit Jahren befindet sich der Schulsport im Zwiegespräch der Politiker und Medien. Immer waren dabei die beklagenswerten Zustände beim Schulsport Gesprächsgegenstand. In den letzten Jahren haben sich die unterrichtlichen Voraussetzungen an den Schulen verschlechtert. Regelmäßiger Sportunterricht ist nicht mehr in allen Schulformen gesichert. In einigen Bundesländern wurden die Stundentafeln im Bereich Sport zudem gekürzt (z.B. Bayern) 2. Dies hat weniger mit Überzeugung zu tun, als vielmehr mit der Untertunnelung des noch immer anstehenden Schülerbergs, durch den sich die Kultusminister der Länder zu Einsparmaßnahmen im Schulbereich gezwungen sehen. Einsparungen werden in der Regel dort vorgenommen, wo der vermeintlich geringste Protest zu befürchten ist. Aufgrund einer Prioritätenverschiebung, die nicht zuletzt durch die internationalen Schulvergleichtests mit dem schlechten Abschneiden Deutschlands stattgefunden hat, wird derzeit die Forderung nach mehr und besser unterrichteten Kernfächern laut. So wird derzeitig über den Wegfall der dritten Stunde des Faches Sport diskutiert. Bei anderen wird die Forderung der Abschaffung des vermeintlich überflüssigen Sportunterrichtes laut. 1
