Des Weiteren soll Nadja, so sagt es uns zumindest der Erzähler, eine bloße Aneinanderreihung zufällig ausgewählter Erlebnisse sein, „sans ordre préétabli et selon le caprice de l’heure“ . So soll der Leser auch glauben, die Bilder seien zufällig ausgewählt und stellten einige Orte dieser Erlebnisse dar.

Es soll in dieser Arbeit unter anderem eingegangen werden auf die Frage, welche wiederkehrenden Zeichen in den Bildern auszumachen sind und damit, welche Zusammenhänge zwischen den Bildern und deren Referenzpunkten bestehen. Handelt es sich wirklich um unwillkürlich ausgewählte Bilder, ohne Zusammenhang, die einfach nur dazu dienen, ein Buch interessanter zu machen?
