Jahrhundert fanden in der heutigen Volksrepublik China historisch wichtige ideologische und gesellschaftspolitische Veränderungen statt, die bis in die heutige Zeit auf dem Gebiet der Internationalen Beziehungen ihre Wirkungen hinterlassen haben. Die politischen Differenzen zwischen der Guomindang und der Kommunitischen Partei Chinas, welche mit der Einheitsfront gegen die lokalen Militärmachthaber ihren Anfang nahmen und sich unter anderem in der Heranbildung zweier Staaten, die sich ihrerseits als das einzig wahre China definier(t)en, fallen in diese geschichtspolitisch wichtige Periode und sorgen auch hinsichtlich des China-Taiwan-Konfliktes weiterhin für ein internationales Spannungsfeld. Aufgrund der politischen Tragweite des ideologischen und machtpolitischen Konfliktes zwischen den beiden Parteien, beschäftigt sich die vorliegende Arbeit über die Reorganisation der Guomindang und den Nordfeldzug unter dem Analyseschwerpunkt „Der Bruch der nationalen Einheitsfront als Folge der divergenten Ideologien und Machtziele“ mit den unterschiedlichen Absichten sowohl der Guomindang als auch der Kommunistischen Partei Chinas für die Bildung einer Einheitsfront und die damit verbundenen Konflikte innerhalb des Bündnisses.
