Gefühle, wie Freude, Erleichterung, Abschalten oder Spaß, sind hier vorrangig. Spricht man in Verbindung mit Sport von Angst, klingt dies erst einmal nicht gleich einleuchtend. Doch aus folgendem Grund spielt Angst, gerade im Schulsport, eine sehr große Rolle.

Wird man im Sport zum Beispiel mit Leistungssituationen konfrontiert, können Ängste entstehen. Der Grad an Freude über eine gute Leistung im Sport oder der Grad der Enttäuschung über eine Niederlage, hängt von der Bedeutung des Leistungsergebnisses für den Sportler ab. Dem Schüler beispielsweise bedeutet sein Leistungsergebnis normalerweise sehr viel, da er sich vor der Klasse nicht blamieren will oder gute Noten braucht. An dieser Stelle kann es passieren, dass der Schüler bzw. Sportler Angstgefühle davor entwickelt, was geschieht, wenn er diese Leistung nicht erbringt.

Doch was ist Angst und wie wird sie in der wissenschaftlichen Literatur beschrieben bzw. erklärt? Warum haben wir Angst? Wie entsteht sie oder woher kommt sie? Ist sie in uns verankert oder wird sie erlernt? Warum hat eine Person vor etwas Angst, wovor andere keine Angst haben? Die Beantwortung dieser Fragestellungen kann höchst relevant werden und ist Inhalt der vorliegenden Arbeit.

Im Folgenden möchte ich auf die verschiedenen Ursachen und Arten der Angst im Sport allgemein eingehen und Möglichkeiten zur Überwindung im Sportunterricht darlegen.
